The Mayflower Ship departed Plymouth UK on 6 September 1620 and arrived in Cape Cod on 9 November 1620 (after 66 days).
During the 66 day journey, a passenger, John Howland, who was a servant to John Carver fell overboard during a storm but amazingly he survived, as he was rescued by grabbing hold of a trailing rope. He then lived until he was in his 80’s and died on 23 February 1673. He married Elizabeth Tilley and they had 10 children and now have millions of descendants.
Now, more than 30 million people can trace their ancestry to the 102 passengers aboard The Mayflower.
